PLAYFAIRLY

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PlayFairly.

How does PlayFairly ensure fair playing time?

PlayFairly uses a smart substitution engine that generates optimal rotation plans before each match. It balances playtime across all players, then tracks actual minutes during the game and grades fairness afterwards.

What team sizes does PlayFairly support?

PlayFairly supports all youth football formats: 5v5, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 with smart formations for each size. It works for any number of players on your squad.

Does PlayFairly work without internet?

Yes. PlayFairly is fully offline-capable. All data is stored locally on your device, so you can plan substitutions and track matches on any pitch without Wi-Fi.

Is PlayFairly free?

PlayFairly is currently free during the beta period on iOS via TestFlight. Android support is coming soon.

How is PlayFairly different from other substitution apps?

Unlike most substitution apps that only track time during games, PlayFairly plans your substitutions before the match. It generates an optimal rotation schedule, then guides you through it with one-tap subs during the game, and grades the fairness afterwards.

Does PlayFairly work for soccer in the US?

Yes. PlayFairly works for youth soccer in the US and youth football worldwide. Whether you call it soccer or football, the substitution planning, live match tracking, and fairness grading features work the same way for any youth team.

How do I plan substitutions before a match?

Add your squad and pick a formation. Tell PlayFairly the match length and how many halves. The substitution engine generates an optimal rotation plan in seconds. You can review and adjust the plan before kickoff, then follow it during the match with one-tap subs.

Can I adjust substitutions during a match?

Yes. While PlayFairly generates a plan before the match, you can override any substitution during the game. If a player gets injured or you need a tactical change, just make the swap manually — PlayFairly tracks the actual minutes regardless.

What is the fairness grade?

After every match, PlayFairly calculates a fairness grade from A to F based on how evenly playing time was distributed across your squad. An A means near-perfect balance; lower grades indicate some players got significantly more or less time than others.

Can I share playing time data with parents?

PlayFairly tracks per-player minutes and generates a fairness grade after every match. You can share the lineup image with parents, and use the in-app data to answer any playing time questions with real numbers.

Is my data private and secure?

All data is stored locally on your device. PlayFairly works entirely offline and does not require player email addresses, photos, or personal accounts. No data is shared with third parties. See our privacy policy for full details.

When will PlayFairly be available on Android?
